HOT YOGA MANCHESTER

IN HISTORIC MILL WEST

WELCOME TO HOT YOGA MANCHESTER

On behalf of my entire staff, welcome!

HYM has been serving Manchester and its surrounding communities since January 9, 2005. Located in one of Manchester's historically significant mill buildings, Mill West, this facility outgrew its original location and relocated only a few doors down in 2013.

The longevity of this facility is a testament to the power of authentic Bikram Yoga, defined as a precise routine of 26 specific beginner postures and 2 breathing exercises conducted over 90 minutes in a room heated to 105 degrees. When done consistently, Bikram Yoga changes lives - something I do not say casually - through introducing discipline, strength, and flexibility to its practitioners.

I take immense pride in providing my clients a safe, clean, welcoming, and lighthearted environment in which to embark on a yoga practice. My hope is that you will read through this website, familiarize yourself with the unique program we offer here, and excitedly schedule your first class with us.

Should you find that you have questions left unanswered, or concerns which are not addressed, then I invite you to contact me personally so I can assist you. Email me at angela@hymnh.com or call me at 603-669-7711. It is my privilege to serve you in any way I can.

Best wishes, and I look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,
Angela Zervos Martinez
Owner, Hot Yoga Manchester

THE HEART OF THE STUDIO

Angela Martinez, owner of Bikram Yoga Manchester

ANGELA ZERVOS MARTINEZ

Owner & Director

I was first introduced to Bikram Yoga in September 2010. A friend of mine encouraged me to accompany her to the class. I was reluctant to try it. I was nervous about how hot the class could be, and also because I had never tried any type of yoga before. Halfway through class I thought to myself, that this is crazy, when will it end! It was only how great I felt the next day that made me think “I have to get back into the hot room.”

The more I practiced, the more my passion for yoga grew. For 20 years I have been a stay at home mom, taking care of my four children, my home, but the more I got into yoga the more I felt like I had finally found something just for me! In the Spring of 2013, I decide to venture off to Los Angeles for the nine week teacher training course, to become an instructor. I feel that yoga has truly changed my life, for that I feel blessed, and hope to show others what yoga can do for them.

Jeni Ogilvy from Bikram Yoga Manchester

JENI OGILVY

Instructor

Jeni took her first Bikram Yoga class in November 2010 at the insistence of her daughter, Ashley, who was currently at Bikram Yoga Teacher Training.  After not exercising for nearly a decade, besides putting on weight, she was suffering from numerous ailments, severe back pain, headaches, acid reflux, and plantar fasciitis. After practicing for only a month, all of her ailments were gone, and over the next two months, she shed 30 pounds. She was hooked.

In 2011, she completed a 365 day challenge, and then made the decision to become a teacher, which she completed in the fall of 2012 in LA. What Jeni loves most about Bikram Yoga is that anyone can do it, not matter how old, sick, or broken they are. She loves bringing her enthusiasm for the yoga to every class she teaches. When not teaching, Jeni enjoys practicing Bikram Yoga with her husband, Mike, as well as her three daughters.

MEREDITH CHICKLIS

Instructor

Meredith took her first Bikram Yoga class in October of 2001. She was hooked immediately and decided early on she wanted to teach. The studio owner required that his students practice every day for a year in order to be prepared to take the training. She practiced everyday and attended the training in November 2002. At the time, the training was in LA. It was a 9 week training and she practiced twice a day during the week, once on Saturday and had Sunday off. She attended lectures until 1:00am some mornings. It was strenuous but it continues to be one of the most monumental decisions she has ever made as it changed the course of her life.

Today, she is as passionate about the class as she was back then. It has gotten her through many tough times. As an example, it prepared her  incredibly for her pregnancies, deliveries, and the recovery thereafter.

Her favorite posture is the rabbit. She remembers returning to the class one month after having her first child. Her body was so out of whack. Rabbit released so much of her stored up emotion that she cried the rest of the class. This class works just like bumpers on a bowling alley. When she travels too far away from her center- physically, emotionally or mentally-the class gently sends her back to where she is most herself, most happy, most her.  That is, the best version of herself.

Fun fact about Meredith, before she was a Bikram yoga teacher, she was working as an extra for movies and television.

AMY MAGNAN

HIIT Instructor

Amy has been a certified personal trainer and certified group exercise instructor for 10 years. She became a trainer/instructor because she had been on her own fitness journey for most of her adult life. She wanted to show others getting fit and healthy is possible for everyone.

She have been practicing yoga at HYM since 2015. She loved the idea of a HIIT class in the hot room. Her favorite exercise is squats because they work almost your entire lower half of your body. Plus, there are many variations you can do to make your legs and core strong.

A fun fact about Amy is she loves food! She loves cooking and trying new recipes. She loves foods from different ethnicities. She also love traveling because she loves trying local foods. She also loves showing others that healthy foods don’t have to be boring and can taste delicious!

DANA GIANGREGORIO

Pilates Instructor

Dana has been an Inferno Hot Pilates Instructor at HYM since May 2021. She was first introduced to HYM through the yoga classes and took her first class on 10/12/2016. Her first class was super challenging but the feeling she got from finishing the class made her want to keep coming. It has helped her heal her back pain and learn how too slow and control her breathing. It took her a while before she took her first Pilates class because she was nervous, she heard it was really hard and didn’t know what to expect. She first took class on March 25th, 2018 and it was a blast!

The Pilates really helped to build smaller, stabilizing muscles and the yoga helped stretch everything else while both helped build that mind muscle connection. She enjoys taking both classes but in 2021 decided to take the Inferno Hot Pilates training and led her first class on April 28th, 2021. She loves teaching students how to improve and help them push themselves to their fullest potential.

When she is not up on the podium or on a mat, she likes to go out on adventures with her dog, Ruby, hang out with friends and go on hikes.

Stephanie Martinez from Bikram Yoga Manchester

STEPHANIE MARTINEZ

Pilates Instructor

I went to Teacher Training for Inferno Hot Pilates in 2018… My mom (Angela) made me do it! She suggested that I take the training and haven’t looked back! I enjoy teaching for many reasons. I love pushing the student beyond what they think they are capable of accomplishing. At the end of the class I enjoy seeing them leave smiling. One step closer to their mental and physical goal.

HAPPY YOGIS

As a newcomer to Bikram, all I can say is that you have to come and take a class. After, you'll want to sign up for membership. They offer a variety of affordable deals with experienced, friendly and knowledgeable instructors. Great atmosphere with clean facilities throughout. Do yourself a favor and stop by today.

I just went to my first bikram class and I could not be happier. I was overwhelmed at first because the heated room, the amount of people in the class, etc...but I learned to appreciate it. I didn't feel pressured to over perform and the instructor advised me to sit and watch if I ever felt uneasy. I sat in the back row to not be a distraction. It's the best feeling when the class is over. Just exiting the hot room and walking into the cool hallway is worth the class in general. My skin feels amazing. Can't wait to go regularly.

The yoga is incredible! The staff is well trained and pays attention to the students needs, no matter what their level!

I love the member price and even before I was a member I took advantage of the great off peak pricing. I like the variety of class times and the amazing teachers on staff. The studio is perfect with a large clean women's changing/shower room.

Bikram is a life changing experience, this yoga is a tremendous workout physically as well as mentally. The staff is professional and friendly and always available to answer questions. Facilities are kept clean.

Instructors are knowledgable, supportive, and encouraging. Large enough studio that there is rarely overcrowding in the room. 3 showers in the locker room is awesome! A studio that I used to practice at had one for the entire studio, and another studio that didn't have any! The studio is always clean. There also seems to be generous discounts available. Offering the new students $30 for 30 days sounds like a wonderful idea.
